The genesis of “RUNWAY 40” finds its roots in Ugochi Iwaba’s remarkable journey from Nigeria to America, a journey propelled by dreams and passion. Reflecting on her transformative voyage, Ugochi shares, “I’ve actualized my dreams of becoming a  fashion designer and all the wonderful journey that this dream has taken me on.”

The essence of San Diego’s tranquility merges seamlessly with the vibrant spirit of Nigeria in Ugochi’s designs, encapsulating the fusion of two distinct cultures. “I fuse both cultures,” Ugochi explains, “bringing the flamboyance of Lagos, Nigeria, and the serenity of San Diego, California, into each design.” Bold yet wearable, her creations epitomize this harmonious blend, capturing the essence of both worlds.

Through partnerships with the Down Syndrome Association and the San Diego Women’s Foundation, Ugochi aims to uplift and inspire. “Supporting these causes is personal to me,” she shares, “as my journey as a designer was catalyzed by my son, who has Down syndrome, and my own experiences as a woman navigating the world of fashion.”

With plans to launch a jewelry line and expand her ready-to-wear collection, Ugochi envisions her brand reaching new heights of global recognition. “The sky’s the limit,” she asserts, “and I’m determined to make fashion  accessible to all, empowering individuals to embrace their unique style.”
