Due to their skills, expertise, experience in development projects, and related knowledge of community issues, Andy Daro of North Bay Village says, “Yes.”
Andy is a 12-year Real Estate professional who began his real estate career in NYC before relocating to start his team’s office in Miami back in 2014. He has since recently been elected Commissioner of North Bay Village, a 9,000-resident, 3-island-waterfront community between 79th Street in Miami and 71st Street in Miami Beach.
The location was mostly under the waters of Biscayne Bay until the early 1940s, when dredging led the way to a group of man-made islands being formed, which covered approximately one square mile. That square mile is known today as North Bay Village and has been since incorporated in 1945. The city is undergoing a massive revitalization, and today, North Bay Village is making a name for itself as one of the hottest new development sites in all of Miami.
Daro, a resident of North Bay Village since 2018, says his experience of the local market, including property valuations and development patterns, can offer good guidance for the city as it faces a handful of new development projects and challenges in the coming years. North Bay Village is Miami’s last prime waterfront community yet to see its share of soaring new development. This, however, is about to change, as many exciting projects, from new Luxury Residential Towers to Hotels, Restaurants, Offices, and Shops, are on their way to the waterfront neighborhoods of North Bay Village. Daro’s plans for the city’s redevelopment include a pedestrian waterfront boardwalk along the borders of Biscayne Bay with scenic views encompassing from Downtown Miami to the Sunny Isles. The boardwalk, better known in North Bay Village as “The Island Walk,” would leave a trail covering approximately 2 miles along the city’s waterfront property in the multi-family and commercially zoned areas.
Critical decisions are being made by the city, and balancing proper urban planning, while ensuring that development initiatives match community requirements and preferences is no easy task. North Bay Village has kept a small town “village” feel in the middle of Miami’s thriving and fast pace environment. Some residents have been opposed to the change, while others welcome the development, which will surely be good for the community’s property values. Daro considers himself one of the residents who is “pro-development.”
