Maximizing Online Advertising Success: Insights from AdClients’ Jon Penberthy

US Insider

Are your online ad campaigns struggling to gain traction? Do you want to navigate the engagement funnel for more profitable results? According to Jon Penberthy, the founder of AdClients, the key to success in the online marketing space isn’t as complicated as it may appear.

Renowned author, life coach, and inspirational speaker Tony Robbins once said, “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” Jon Penberthy, who transformed from a high school troublemaker into a prominent coaching and business expert, shares this belief and is eager to reveal the dos and don’ts of decision-making in online marketing. In a world filled with various platforms and growing competition for advertising resources, Penberthy simplifies the choices for those looking to maximize their return on investment (ROI) and attract and retain clients.

Getting the Most from Your Online Marketing Budget

Despite the multitude of online platforms available, Penberthy asserts that two major players dominate the space: Facebook, owned by Meta, and YouTube, a part of the Google/Alphabet conglomerate.

Penberthy, who has invested millions in both platforms, provides a straightforward answer to the question of which one is better for running profitable ads and driving traffic.

He explains, “I spent the first years of my business, from 2014 to 2018, focusing on Facebook ads, investing over £1 million. Between my business partner and me, we spent multiple millions and made sure our businesses were profitable. However, in 2018/19, we shifted our focus to YouTube advertising, and AdClients alone has invested over £2 million in YouTube since then. Hands down, I believe it is currently more powerful, more profitable, and more effective than Facebook.”

Penberthy still utilizes both platforms but leans towards a 80/20 ratio in favor of YouTube within a broader advertising mix that may include Facebook among others.

“Facebook is still an incredible platform. It offers quick email list building, effective targeting, and profitable conversion into sales funnels and websites. However, the problem is that Facebook has reached a saturation point where there are more advertisers vying for space than there is space available. They no longer prioritize individual advertisers. On the other hand, YouTube, despite being a billion-dollar platform, still offers ad space and focuses on supporting their advertisers.”

Crafting Mindful Messages

When it comes to Penberthy’s YouTube videos, which have amassed over 100 million views, it’s not just the slick production values—dramatic lighting, high-quality audio, and creative camera angles—that matter. He emphasizes that the most critical element for capturing an audience is a well-crafted script.

Penberthy explains, “When a YouTube ad pops up, viewers give it only about five seconds of attention before the skip button appears. In those few seconds, they decide whether they want to keep watching. If I’m targeting coaching and course creators, I’ll begin by saying, ‘hey, real quick, if you’re selling coaching or courses, I’ve got to speak to you.’ By calling out their specific interests, I increase the chances of retaining this type of audience.”

In a free resource titled “The 60 Second Script” offered to AdClients subscribers, Penberthy introduces the second step as “45-seconds of Wow, Not How.” This step involves sharing valuable insights and “lightbulb” moments designed to captivate viewers’ imaginations and guide them toward innovative and practical approaches for delivering client services.

The final and clinching element is a specific and compelling call to action, not a generic “for more information, click the link below.”

Penberthy advises, “Persuade people to click and ensure it’s an informed click. If your call to action is to register for a webinar presentation, make it engaging and informative. For example, ‘If you’d like to dive deeper into this topic, I have a brand-new presentation where I’ll walk you through it. Click here to go to the registration page. I look forward to seeing you there.'”

AdClients has extensively tested “The 60 Second Script” methodology across thousands of online ad posts, and according to Penberthy, it has proven to be the most critical factor in enhancing client engagement.

Jon Penberthy’s insights shed light on the ever-evolving landscape of online advertising. By focusing on the power of YouTube, crafting mindful scripts, and delivering compelling calls to action, advertisers can unlock the potential for greater reach and engagement. As the digital realm continues to transform, embracing these strategies can be the key to achieving a more effective and profitable online advertising journey. Whether you’re a seasoned marketer or just stepping into the world of online ads, Penberthy’s advice serves as a valuable compass for navigating the dynamic world of digital marketing, ultimately guiding you towards more successful and impactful campaigns.
