Matt Kirkegaard, Movement Property Group Founder, Featured on  ‘Selling Nashville’ Video to Share Local Knowledge That Attracts Buyers

Movement Property Group founder Matt Kirkegaard is a real estate expert and a lover of all things Nashville. He combines these two passions in his ongoing video series, “Selling Nashville,” designed to show viewers his favorite corners of his city and what makes people want to move there.

While many episodes feature the gorgeous luxury homes he sells, the latest episode is a bit of a departure and one that kept us enthralled from the first seconds. Unlike his other episodes, this one focuses on one of his favorite hotspots in Nashville, a local bar and winery called Love & Exile.

The reason for departing from his tried-and-true, popular real estate segments is, as he recently told us, a city is only as strong and lively as its small businesses.

“As realtors, I think it’s important to intentionally support the community you are serving by not only helping people find the right home but by supporting the businesses, bars, cafes, and restaurants that add to the culture of the city!”

In our interview and the clip, Kirkegaard’s passion for Nashville is as tangible as it is contagious.

As he walked us through the local winery — replete with indoor, fireplace-adjacent seating and outdoor, firepit-side lounging — we could not help but get excited too. By the night’s end, we were looking at Airbnb, apartment, and home prices in Nashville.

About Matt’s Mission

One of the things that has made the Movement Property Group founder such a success is his tangible love for his community. Whether it’s supporting musicians, cafes, bars, or community establishments, he considers patronizing and assisting these businesses as key to his own success.

After all, people move to Nashville for the rich culture, which is the foundation of his multi-million-dollar real estate business.

Beyond getting the word out about Nashville’s incredible culture and lifestyle, Kirkegaard uses his platform as a local business founder as a chance to give back to his community. A leader that truly believes you can level up your business while helping out your community, he has become a stellar example of how big business can be done in Nashville.

It was only 17 years ago that Kirkegaard left his family home in Wyoming for Nashville with a one year layover in Los Angeles, intent on making it in the music business. At 21, he was broke and living in his car. But the experience taught him resilience and to never give up on himself. Today, he’s the founder of a Nashville luxury property group that does millions in business. Still, he makes sure to give back to the community that brought him back from homelessness and hopelessness.

The founder — and dad of three children, two of which were  adopted from India — has even created a program for giving back through Movement Property Group, the LiftUp initiative. The program provides mortgage help and rent assistance to local residents suffering financially from situations beyond their control and is funded by 10% of each founder’s commissions.

“You can scale your company and give back simultaneously. In fact, I truly belive growth is directly tied to how well you care for others.,” he said.

About the New “Selling Nashville” Segment

The upbeat segment immediately presents Nashville as a place you want to visit. It’s hip, high-energy, and full of interesting local facts.

Always keeping the idea of relocating to Nashville in the frame for his followers, he touches on life in the country music capital, homeownership, and the role that buying a house plays in the American dream.

After a short intro, the camera pans out, and we see that Kirkegaard sits on the patio of a modern wine bar. Next, he introduces us to Love & Exile, one of his favorite Nashville hangouts, perfect for wining, dining, and relaxing.

Making us feel like a true insider, he takes us on a tour and introduces the audience to one of his buddies, bar manager Mackenzie Tierney-Smith, who takes us behind the scenes at the legendary nightspot.

Specializing in gorgeously packaged canned and bottled wine, it would be hard to pick just one based on each blend’s intriguing name and unique marketing.

With offerings called Anonymous and One Night Only, it’s easy to tell that Love & Exile is a unique spot that residents, visitors, and those new to Nashville should be sure to visit.

With Kirkegaard’s multiple roles as a real estate expert, local guide, and community contributor, we look forward to his next videos, each further fueling our dreams of moving to Nashville.
