The contemporary art world is evolving rapidly. If years ago it was enough for an artist to simply exhibit in a respected gallery, today the industry demands much more – the right environment, international connections, atmosphere, storytelling, and the ability to integrate art into modern culture. This is exactly where Jason Perez has found his place.
As an art broker, curator, and founder of the Jason Perez Art Collective, Perez is becoming one of the most recognizable new voices in contemporary art. His projects connect artists, collectors, entrepreneurs, luxury audiences, tastemakers, and cultural leaders between Miami, New York, and the Hamptons. But more importantly, Jason Perez is creating real opportunities for artists to be seen on an international level.
We spoke with him about the future of the art market, the changing role of exhibitions, and why artists today need much more than gallery walls to truly succeed.
– Jason, many people today describe you as someone changing the way contemporary art events are experienced. How do you personally see your role in the industry?
I think the art world is going through a major transformation right now. The world itself has changed. People no longer want to simply walk into a white gallery, quietly look at paintings, and leave. They want experiences. They want emotion, atmosphere, connection, and energy surrounding the art.
That’s why I focus on creating projects where art becomes part of a larger lifestyle experience. I want artists to receive more than just wall space for their work. I want them to meet collectors, entrepreneurs, people from fashion, hospitality, luxury industries, and influential cultural circles. Today, those relationships can completely change an artist’s career.
– So traditional exhibitions are no longer enough?
Absolutely. Galleries will always remain important, but today artists need much more in order to truly stand out.
Everything now revolves around visibility, networking, and positioning. An artist can be incredibly talented, but if they are not placed in the right environment, people may never discover them. On the other hand, sometimes one meaningful conversation or one important introduction can completely transform someone’s future.
That’s why when I curate projects, I think not only about the artwork itself, but also about who will be in the room, what kind of atmosphere will exist, and what conversations can naturally happen between people. Contemporary art today is no longer just about walls. It’s about connection, emotion, and cultural influence.
– How much did your personal story and family background influence your vision?
A lot. I grew up surrounded by art because of my father, Michael Perez. I saw how artists live through their creativity and how much emotion and energy they put into their work. But I also saw the difficult side of the industry – how many talented people struggle because they lack proper support or visibility.
After my father suffered a stroke, many things changed for me very quickly. I realized early on that I needed to take responsibility and learn every part of the industry myself – working with artists, collectors, exhibitions, sales, communication, branding, and event production.
Honestly, that period shaped me tremendously. It taught me resilience and helped me understand how important it is to create real opportunities for people.

– A lot of attention is now surrounding your upcoming Hamptons project. Can you tell us more about it?
Of course. It’s a project we are creating together with UFIRST Art Production, and it’s something I’m genuinely excited about.
The Hamptons Private Art Experience is not just another exhibition. It’s a full immersive cultural experience that combines contemporary art, music, luxury lifestyle, networking, and an international audience inside one environment.
The event will take place on June 7, 2026, in Southampton, New York, at a beautiful private estate in the Hamptons. We’re bringing together artists, collectors, entrepreneurs, tastemakers, luxury brands, and people who genuinely influence today’s cultural landscape.
For artists, this creates an incredible opportunity to present themselves in a completely different way. Not just displaying work on a wall, but building real relationships, meeting collectors, entering important conversations, and gaining visibility among high-level international audiences.
I truly believe events like this represent the future of the art industry.
– What makes experiences like this different from traditional art fairs?
The energy.
At many art fairs, everything feels very formal. People walk past booths quickly, look at work for a few seconds, and move on. We want to create an environment where people stay longer, connect, have conversations, and emotionally experience the art.
When someone listens to music by the pool, speaks directly with an artist, discovers artwork in a beautiful atmosphere, and meets inspiring people at the same time – they begin experiencing art differently. It becomes part of life instead of simply something hanging on a wall.
That, to me, is where contemporary art is heading.
– What is most important to you personally in your work today?
Seeing artists grow.
For me, creating opportunities is the most meaningful part of everything I do. When I see an artist connect with a collector, receive a new collaboration, enter a larger market, or simply gain more confidence in themselves, that’s incredibly rewarding.
Because behind every artwork is a person, their story, their energy, and years of dedication. If I can help create new doors for those people, then I know I’m moving in the right direction.
– How do you see the future of Jason Perez Art Collective?
I want to continue building an international platform that connects art, culture, luxury lifestyle, and strong creative communities around the world.
I believe contemporary art needs new formats, new environments, and new ways for people to engage with creativity. And I want to continue being part of that transformation.
Because art has enormous power. It brings people together, inspires new ideas, changes perspectives, and creates meaningful cultural connections across the world.
