For Charlotte Castagne-Chaudron, Champagne is inseparable from family heritage. It represents generations of experience, a connection to the vineyard, and traditions that continue to influence her work today.

As the eighth-generation wine-grower behind Leo De Verzay Champagne, Castagne-Chaudron remains central to the brand’s story, bringing the heritage of her family’s vineyard in Verzenay into a modern Champagne experience designed for today’s consumers.

Verzenay, located in the Montagne de Reims, is recognized as a Grand Cru Champagne village, reflecting the reputation of its terroir within the Champagne region. From this setting, the story of Leo De Verzay begins.

The brand’s identity is closely tied to Castagne-Chaudron’s experience as a grower and to the traditions passed down through her family. While Champagne has traditionally been defined by heritage and craftsmanship, Leo De Verzay approaches those qualities from a contemporary perspective, emphasizing quality, presentation, and the experience surrounding the bottle.

Each bottle features a certified Swarovski crystal, creating a distinctive element that makes the bottle itself part of the experience. The cuvées are aged for a minimum of three years in the bottle, continuing the emphasis on time and craftsmanship.

For Castagne-Chaudron, however, the brand’s essence remains rooted in Champagne.

Her family’s generations of experience provide the foundation for Leo De Verzay and its effort to introduce the character of French Champagne to consumers beyond traditional markets. The brand combines the vineyard’s heritage with a contemporary expression of luxury.

That vision has become increasingly visible through Leo De Verzay’s development in the United States.

Scott Disick, an equity partner in LDV USA, has played a visible role in the company’s American presence, helping introduce the Champagne to consumers through lifestyle and entertainment communities. His involvement as a co-owner of the U.S. business has helped build connections with a new audience while preserving the brand’s French character.

The expansion into the United States gained momentum in 2023, when Leo De Verzay announced availability across Florida through restaurants, bars, clubs, and wine and spirits stores in partnership with Republic National Distributing Company.

Florida provided a natural setting for that development. South Florida, particularly Miami, has become closely connected with hospitality, entertainment, fashion, and contemporary luxury, creating an environment where Leo De Verzay could introduce its visual identity to a new generation of Champagne consumers.

Disick’s appearances at selected venues helped connect the product directly with consumers, bringing together the Champagne’s French origins and its emerging American lifestyle presence.

Yet the brand’s foundation remains far from the American hospitality scene.

It begins in Verzenay.

For Castagne-Chaudron, the vineyard continues to define what Leo De Verzay represents. Her position as an eighth-generation wine-grower gives the brand a direct connection to the Champagne region and to the knowledge developed through generations of family experience.

That connection has become increasingly important as the Champagne category changes. Modern consumers are often interested not only in the product itself, but also in its origins, craftsmanship, and identity.

Leo De Verzay responds by combining the authenticity of its French roots with a contemporary approach to luxury.

The Swarovski crystal creates a recognizable signature on the bottle. Verzenay’s Grand Cru heritage connects the brand to a respected Champagne terroir. And the growing American presence allows that heritage to reach consumers who increasingly experience Champagne through lifestyle and hospitality.

Castagne-Chaudron remains at the center of that evolution.

As the eighth generation of her family connected to Champagne, she represents the continuity between the vineyard’s history and the future of Leo De Verzay. Her role is to carry the family tradition forward while introducing it to new audiences.

As Leo De Verzay continues its development in the United States, the relationship between its French origins and American expansion remains central to the brand.

From the Grand Cru vineyards of Verzenay to restaurants, clubs, and hospitality destinations across the United States, Leo De Verzay is creating a contemporary Champagne experience while keeping its roots firmly connected to the land.

At the center of that story is Charlotte Castagne-Chaudron, whose family’s Champagne heritage provides the foundation for Leo De Verzay’s future.
