Leadership often begins quietly, with a decision to show up, to care deeply, and to act when others hesitate. For Tiffany Jeffers, the founder of the Black Empowerment & Community Council in Central Florida, the decision to pursue her calling has shaped her journey as a woman of faith, a mentor, and a community advocate. The roots of Tiffany Jeffers’s leadership were not cultivated in formal institutions but through real conversations, often with women seeking healing, clarity, and a sense of identity. She understands the weight of uncertainty because she has walked through seasons of her own losses that challenged her resilience, doubts that tested her faith, and spiritual valleys that demanded she confront her purpose. It was in those difficult moments that Jeffers uncovered the calling to serve more deeply, creating environments where people could begin again and rediscover their worth. Her journey is not marked by grand entrances or political campaigns, but by an unwavering commitment to walk alongside others in their growth and to build spaces where empowerment becomes possible.
What began as a ministry for Tiffany Jeffers grew into a broader mission, extending beyond the church pews into civic and social spaces. She recognized that empowerment required more than inspiration; it needed structure, access, and collective momentum. Her leadership was never about recognition, but about impact, offering people the tools, networks, and confidence to lead with integrity at every level of life. This vision soon evolved into something much larger than herself, a movement that would eventually be harnessed through the Black Empowerment & Community Council, better known as BECC.
When Tiffany Jeffers founded BECC in 2024, she envisioned an organization that could celebrate Black excellence while addressing systemic gaps and building legacies that could endure. Under her leadership, BECC has emerged as a platform for both advocacy and action, giving residents not just a seat at the table, but a council table intended specifically to advance their needs. It is the embodiment of Jeffers’s commitment to create lasting change for Osceola County’s Black community.
The framework she and her team designed for BECC is built on four guiding pillars: Connect, Contribute, Collaborate, and Care. These principles inform programs in education, health, economic empowerment, and social justice. Through Council Tables, Jeffers ensures working groups focus on specific needs such as health and wellness, public safety, nonprofit support, and economic development. Each effort, from mentorship programs to wellness fairs, reflects her vision that change should be both practical and measurable.
The presence of BECC in the community reflects Jeffers’s blend of cultural pride and practical service. She has helped shape signature gatherings like Rise & Thrive, a coffee and networking series that nurtures collaboration, alongside larger celebrations such as Juneteenth events, Black History Month receptions, and the annual Vanguard Awards Gala. These occasions highlight culture while also providing platforms for leadership development. At the same time, she directs BECC’s efforts to deliver tangible resources through back-to-school drives, entrepreneurship expos, and health fairs that bring valuable support to local families.
A milestone of Tiffany Jeffers’s vision came in 2025 when BECC received an AARP Community Challenge grant. She saw the grant as an opportunity to expand access in a way that met people where they were, leading the development of a mobile resource hub. This initiative reflects Jeffers’s belief that empowerment must be inclusive and flexible, reaching neighborhoods directly with tools for safety, wellness, and digital literacy.
Membership within BECC also carries Jeffers’s personal touch. She structured it as a journey, with levels of engagement that include Empower, Thrive, and Legacy memberships. Her goal was to ensure that everyone, from students to seasoned professionals, could find a place within the council and contribute to the community’s future. This structure allows Jeffers to connect with individuals at different stages of their growth and create pathways for deeper involvement. While BECC continues to grow, Tiffany Jeffers remains clear that the heart of her work is family and faith. She often credits her husband, Verian, as her anchor, sharing that he reminded her of her purpose in times when she couldn’t see it herself. For Jeffers, leadership is not about standing alone but about building in partnership, an ethos she lives personally and demonstrates in every initiative she leads through BECC.
Through ministry, nonprofit leadership, and community advocacy, Tiffany Jeffers has built a life of service rooted in faith and focused on impact. BECC is her extension of that vision, a council where empowerment is not just a word, but a lived experience. Her journey illustrates that when leadership begins with responsibility rather than titles, it creates ripples far beyond the individual. And in the story of Tiffany Jeffers and BECC, those ripples are already shaping a stronger, more equitable Osceola County.
