E’maj Entertainment Television Network is proud to announce its official launch on Juneteenth, June 19, 2023. In commemoration of the day when the last freed African and/or Indigenous American discovered their liberation from slavery, E’maj stands as a symbol of empowerment, providing people of color, particularly from the African Diaspora, Africa and people indigenous to colonized lands, the platform to control their narrative, news, media, education, and ultimately their “e’maj” (“image”).

With up to 100 channels covering a wide range of topics and interests, E’maj Entertainment Television Network aims to revolutionize the media landscape by offering a diverse array of programming. It can be enjoyed on all Apple and Android smartphones, Roku, and web browsers, and will soon expand its availability to all gaming systems and other smart TV brands. In their commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, E’maj will be freely accessible to the public, eliminating any barriers to entry and empowering individuals from all walks of life to engage with quality content that speaks to their experiences and aspirations.

Fred Simmons, Founder and CEO, shared his vision for the network, saying, “Our mission is to amplify the voices and stories of people of color, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents, share their perspectives, and reclaim their narratives. E’maj represents a powerful opportunity for self-expression, empowerment, and cultural enrichment. We believe in the transformative power of media and its ability to shape perceptions, bridge divides, and foster unity in diversity.”

In addition to its innovative programming, E’maj Entertainment Television Network has embarked on dynamic partnerships, weaving an intricate tapestry of diverse perspectives and lived experiences with reputable organizations, community groups, publications, TV channels, and public figures from all corners of the globe to ensure a wide range of perspectives and experiences are represented as well as to ensure accurate and representative storytelling.

These partnerships, both at home and around the globe, along with giving independent film and series producers a home to break into mainstream, will serve as a cornerstone in E’maj’s quest to continually honor the varied, vibrant hues of the human tapestry. The cosmopolitan network looks forward to working with more local, national and international organizations to ensure that there is a global uplift of positive and accurate information on people from diverse cultures. Organizations such as the Hip Hop Alliance, and The Stop the Violence Movement and cultural medium, the Bring the Noise app, are examples of E’maj Entertainment’s support of important causes and positive cultural images to help replace the current stigma of the historic Hip Hop culture that forever changed fashion, music as the world celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop.
