Stacey Jackson, the captivating songstress celebrated for captivating chart-toppers and enduring entrepreneurship, is stepping onto a whole new stage in the coming year. Known for her multifaceted career in music and television, Stacey is ready to underline her accomplished narrative with an exciting venture into the world of literature. Cementing her creative prowess further, her debut novel, “How A Gangsta Rapper Made Me A Better Mom,” is due to hit shelves in March 2024.
Stacey’s rise to pop phenomenon wasn’t small nor short of twists and turns. Unlike others, she ventured into music at 40, brilliantly challenging the ageism narrative dominant in the entertainment industry. With a fervor for pop music that couldn’t be ignored, she caught the limelight, demonstrating remarkable talent and vibrant energy. Her extraordinary flea towards success dates back to her groundbreaking collaboration with renowned rapper Snoop Dogg on the smash hit “Live It Up” in 2011. Fast-forward to 2021, marking a decade since the track’s release, Stacey revisited the cherished memory by making a cameo in the comedy “Reboot Camp,” reliving the track’s golden era by reuniting with Snoop Dogg for a revamped music video for “Live It Up: Rebooted.”
Stacey’s dynamic personality extends far beyond the melodies, into the realm of entrepreneurship. She hosts her own show on Spotlight TV called “Stacey Jackson In the 80s,” guiding her audience through the 80s’ most iconic music videos, lighting up screens every week since its premiere in June 2021. A fitness enthusiast at heart, she also introduced a patented workout top called Staefit, resolving fitness-related issues for women. Striking the perfect work-life balance, Stacey is a proud mother of four.
Swapping the recording booth for the writer’s desk, to Stacey, was more than just a switch. Called upon by her deep-rooted passion and nudged by a friend, she took on the literary arts pre-pandemic. Supported by former journalist and editor Ruth Elkins, Stacey created a fictional narrative drawn from her life experiences – the adventurous tale of Stephanie Bloom. “How A Gangsta Rapper Made Me A Better Mom” takes readers on a spirited voyage through Stephanie’s life, integrating comedy and sentiment into the mother’s pursuit of her aspirations.
Sharing about her journey into publishing, Stacey quips, “The reader won’t really know which stories may or may not be factual. The challenge was probably which stories to tell!” Completing the creative process was a matter of immense joy for her. The novel’s release is set to coincide with an accompanying audiobook, even featuring its soundtrack that mirrors the characters’ diverse musical personas, a true testament to her love for music and entertainment, and as she puts it, “giving each character their own voice – literally!”
Stacey hopes that her light-hearted, fun, and hopefully inspiring story will resonate with her fans. Embedded in her novel are empowering themes centered on the belief that “it’s never too late to live your own dreams and never give up on your passions or on yourself.”
As the anticipation builds for the release of “How A Gangsta Rapper Made Me A Better Mom,” one can’t help but be inspired by Stacey Jackson’s relentless pursuit of creativity. To keep up with Stacey’s ventures and updates on her upcoming novel, visit her official website at staceyjackson.com.
