It takes a great visionary to bring brilliant ideas to life. As a matter of fact, some of the world’s most successful individuals have shown that translating visions into reality requires grit, perseverance, and passion. Only those who are brave enough to go after their dreams can conquer their endeavors, inspiring thousands of others along the way. Such is the case with Elena Kaminskiy an inventor, entrepreneur, business owner, wife, and mother to three amazing kids. Today, she stands as one of the esteemed co – founders with her husband of a handyman company that later on blossomed into an emerging full-service design and remodeling powerhouse in San Diego.
Elena Kaminskiy’s work ethic can be attributed to her early years. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, she and her family moved to the United States when she was only three years old. With little resources to work with, her father was prompted to work multiple jobs and eventually decided to start his own janitorial business and coffee shop.
It was during this time that Elena Kaminskiy realized the importance of hard work and determination. Heavily inspired by her father, she addressed herself to the challenge of working with him all throughout her childhood. On a mission to reach the summits of success, the go-getter vowed to turn her life around with diligent efforts and unwavering commitment.
In 2005, Elena Kaminskiy got married and settled in San Diego. Together with her husband, they opened a handyman company that has grown into a full service design and remodeling firm in San Diego. It did not take long for her to learn more about the industry and finally decide to create her own product.
Elena Kaminskiy’s venture was inspired by her struggle with sleeping with her favorite face creams and moisturizers on. She brainstormed ideas and created her own prototypes, purchasing materials and foam from the craft store. It took twenty prototypes of trial and error before she finally came up with her product, The Flawless Face Pillow.
“I designed this pillow to help me sleep on my back all night while also allowing me to move to my sides without having my skin come into contact with my flat pillow,” she explained. “The pillow is super soft, comfortable, and comes with a custom satin pillow cover. We also design and manufacture our pillows in the USA.”
Since the company’s inception, The Flawless Face Pillow quickly gained recognition and amassed a loyal customer base of dermatologists who recommended the pillow to their patients, celebrities, and everyday women from around the world.
“I want women to be able to go to sleep and predictably wake up with great skin in the morning. I want them to get actual beauty sleep,” Elena said. “When I wanted to launch the Flawless Face Pillow, I didn’t even have a name figured out yet. I only had an idea and a genuine desire to see this product out in the market helping other women as it helped me,” she added when asked about what piece of advice she would give to aspiring business owners.
As can be gleaned from her entrepreneurial journey, Elena Kaminskiy chose to be dauntless in the face of her endeavors. For this reason, she encourages others to also believe in themselves and be relentless with their pursuits. “No one ever said going after your dreams was easy, but know this—it’s possible,” she left off.
