We hear stories of digital entrepreneurs who made it overnight almost every day. The truth is that navigating the world of digital entrepreneurship is a lot like surfing the unpredictable waves of a rough sea. Some ride with grace, while the majority wipe out. South African entrepreneur Andrew Eaton is one surfer who’s caught just the perfect wave and dedicated his life to showing everyone else how to do it too. A millionaire dollar earner and network marketing expert, there’s no better mentor for newbies trying to create online wealth.
Born in Johannesburg but raised in the picturesque landscapes of Cape Town, South Africa. Andrew graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a bachelor of economics. But Andrew wondered what to do with his degree. Live the corporate life? That wasn’t for Andrew. “I wanted to be an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember,” he recalls. “I had been told that to be an entrepreneur, one needed to know how to sell, and so, in 1999, I started selling gym memberships at the then Claremont Health and Racquet Club in Cape Town.”
Andrew pivoted from the gym membership space to corporate calendars 6 months later. As with the gym memberships, he wasn’t just good; he was great. Selling calendars like they were going out of fashion, he got an irresistible offer to move to Johannesburg. He took it in exchange for some shares in the business. It was here, alongside Charlie, his business partner, that he transformed a mere calendar business into a formidable relationship marketing IT company that dominated for 8 good years. But, as life would have it, in 2008, the company went under.
“I had only been married for a year, and I found myself broke and several credit cards in debt,” Andrew recalls. Burned out and unmotivated, Andrew found himself wandering in the wilderness of the corporate world for the next three years. He’d probably have waited things out, but life threw him another curveball in 2011 when he discovered that his daughter, Jenna, was autistic. “It was the kick up the backside I needed to make changes in my life,” Andrew admits. “I knew it was going to require a lot of time and money to give her what she needed to overcome her many challenges, so I had to find a way to do this.”
With newfound determination, Andrew turned to network marketing. “I had always believed in the model,” he explains. And so began the roller-coaster ride of Andrew’s networking career. Overcoming scepticism from even those close to him (like his wife, who thought he was “crazy” for joining network marketing) and fighting against business stagnation, he never lost hope. “Be very careful who you listen to. Also, never quit,” he shares with entrepreneurs who feel stuck. He’s also big on networking and mentorship with industry leaders, like Eric Worre, who transformed Andrew’s life at a network marketing convention in Vegas.
From being a top affiliate globally between 2014 and 2019 to becoming a guest panellist at Eric Worre’s iconic Go Pro events in 2017 and 2018, Andrew has been on a roll since that life-changing event. Despite facing trust issues after his former company’s downfall in 2019, he’s learned how to bounce back, proving resilience is his middle name. Today, with challenges and milestones behind him, Andrew stands tall as a founding member of his current company and ranks among the top five earners globally.
Andrew’s goal is to achieve more than just money and accolades; he’s leading a revolution. “My purpose in life is to help thousands of people around the world to take back their lives and to bring parents back home so that their children can have their parents back instead of their jobs owning them,” he shares. “Our children deserve this.”
