From Belgium to Detroit, The Success Story of a Millennial, Justin Fontenelle, in Real Estate

The real estate industry moves quickly and is an ever-changing industry that requires real estate professionals to adapt. While it’s not for everyone, some make it appear easy to have success with real estate, such as Justin Fontenelle. While initially working in real estate while living in his hometown of Belgium, he traveled to the United States, moved to Detroit, and started working in real estate there. What initially started with flipping 20 turnkey properties eventually led to the development of his property management company.

As a successful business owner in the real estate industry, Fontenelle’s company now manages over 500 properties and sees 15+ properties per month. In addition, he’s gained quite a reputation in the Detroit area as a leader of the flipping market. “After flipping 20 turnkey properties to French-speaking investors, I knew that I wanted to keep the pace and continue to expand. So not only did I open my property management company, but I also started putting in more effort to achieve greater results,” shared Fontenelle. His consistency and passion for real estate allowed him to grow his business into the success it is today. “Getting started at only 26 years old, I’m sure people in the industry had their doubts. They may never have expected that I’d become a leader of the flipping market in Detroit, but here I am! I’m making a name for myself by working hard at what I do, exceeding quality expectations with turnkey properties, and making the investment process more enjoyable for the investors.”

As the owner of a property management company that continues to grow at such a fast pace, Fontenelle now has properties in Fort Myers and Scottsdale, Arizona, which shows just how far his effort is taking him. “I love the Detroit area and have continued success flipping houses and working with turnkey investors here, but I’m working on expansion because I want to take things a step further,” said Fontenelle. His confidence is one thing his peers appreciate most about him. “I know that I will be a leader of the real estate wholesale industry in 2022 because of my current pace and how determined I am to make that happen. French-speaking investors from different parts of the country and even worldwide are investing in my properties for a reason, which makes it easier for me to stay on top!”

When asked what kind of advice he’d give to others who will feel inspired by his story of success as a millennial in real estate, Justin Fontenelle says that passion will get you further in life. “You can’t grow a business the right way without passion. It might not seem like that big of a deal, but how can you expect to excel at what you do if you don’t love it? Love what you do, be sure to put the time and effort into it, and watch how well this works for you. Don’t be surprised if your business starts to grow faster than you ever anticipated!”
