At its West Lake Hills clinic, Maverick Men’s Health Austin is bringing a decade of aesthetic experience from Auveau to men who want to look rested, not “done.”

It usually starts in the bathroom mirror. A hairline that sits a little higher than it did five years ago. A crown that catches the overhead light. Forehead lines that make a man look stressed even on a good day.

Most men notice these changes long before they say anything about them. Many never do. Maverick Men’s Health Austin, at 4238 Bee Caves Road in West Lake Hills, wants to make that conversation easier, and to aim for results that look like him on his best day rather than like a procedure.

A Quieter Shift in Men’s Care

Aesthetic treatment is no longer something men only joke about. More are booking consultations for thinning hair, tired eyes, and a softening jawline, often for the same reasons they hit the gym: to feel sharp at work and confident at home.

What holds many back is not the treatment. It’s the setting. Walking into a spa built around a different clientele, or worrying that friends will spot the work, is enough to keep a lot of men on the sidelines.

Maverick was designed to remove that friction. The clinic’s promise of “fast answers, real solutions, no awkward conversations” applies to aesthetics as much as to hormones or weight loss. The space is private, discreet, and professional, and the team is used to patients who want straight talk rather than a sales pitch.

TED Hair Restoration Without Needles

For men noticing thinning or shedding, Maverick’s primary hair treatment is TED, short for TransEpidermal Delivery. TED uses ultrasound-based acoustic waves combined with air pressure to open microscopic channels in the scalp. Those channels are designed to let specially formulated serums reach the dermis, the deeper layer of skin where hair follicles live, so the active ingredients can be absorbed more readily than they would be from the surface.

The treatment is designed to support follicle health without surgery, injections, or needles. The clinic describes it as non-invasive, with no scar, graft line, or recovery period, so patients can go straight back to their day.

Like any hair treatment, TED works best for men whose follicles are thinning rather than gone, so timing matters, and results build gradually. That’s why Maverick starts with an honest assessment of whether a patient is a good candidate, rather than promising a full head of hair to everyone who walks in.

PRF: A Slower, Steadier Platelet Treatment

Maverick also offers PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, a newer cousin of the better-known PRP. Both are made from a small sample of the patient’s own blood, but they’re prepared differently. PRF is processed without anticoagulants, so instead of a liquid plasma it forms a fibrin gel. That structure releases growth factors slowly over a period of days, rather than in a quick burst within the first hour.

That sustained release is why the clinic favors PRF for delicate areas like the under-eyes, where men often see the hollowness and dark circles that make them look tired. PRF can also be used for hair restoration, though at Maverick, TED is the go-to option for hair.

Injectables, Calibrated for Men

Injectables for men are not a scaled-down version of what women receive. Male facial anatomy is different: heavier brow muscles, thicker skin, and a stronger jaw and chin. The goals are usually different too. Most men want to look less tired or less stressed, not smoother or softer.

That’s where Keena Chung, MSN, RN, CFNP, who works closely on Maverick’s aesthetic and wellness care, comes in, alongside aesthetic nurse specialist Patty Belisle, RN, CANS, who brings more than 20 years of experience in aesthetics. Done well, wrinkle-relaxing treatment can ease deep forehead lines and frown lines while keeping natural movement and expression. Dermal fillers, used carefully, can restore lost volume or add definition along the jaw and chin, features that read as distinctly masculine.

The skill is in restraint. Over-treated brows, frozen foreheads, and puffy cheeks are exactly what men fear, and exactly what Maverick’s team is trained to avoid.

Enhance, Don’t Erase

Maverick’s aesthetic approach comes directly from Auveau, the boutique medical spa that founder and lead provider Chrissy Gray Lim, PA-C, launched with her husband, Gerald Lim, MD, about ten years ago. Over that decade, Auveau built its practice around results that don’t look overdone.

“We’re known for amazing results that still keep people looking natural,” Lim says.

That philosophy carries over to Maverick’s male patients, and the clinic puts it bluntly, “You weren’t made in a lab, so why look like it?” The team would “rather hear ‘you look great’ than ‘you look different.’” For a man who doesn’t want coworkers asking what he’s done, that’s the whole point.

Starting With a Conversation

Every aesthetic plan at Maverick begins the same way the clinic’s medical plans do: with a consultation focused on the patient’s goals, comfort level, and timeline. The team’s shared philosophy, “listen first, treat thoughtfully,” means no one is pushed toward a treatment he didn’t come in for. There is no sales pressure and no generic protocol.

Because Maverick also offers testosterone therapy, medical weight loss, peptide therapy, and wellness assessments, aesthetics can fit into a broader picture of how a patient looks and feels. A man addressing his energy and body composition can address a thinning crown or tired eyes under the same roof, with providers who already know his history.

That continuity is what the clinic emphasizes most. The same team remembers a patient’s preferences, tracks how he responds, and adjusts over time. As the clinic puts it, “This is not a trend mill. This is the care that compounds.”
