Work Hard, Play Harder: Reno Davis Talks What it Takes to Succeed in Real Estate

Take a look at Reno Davis; you can see he’s extremely successful. The brand name clothes. The bling. The Jaguar F-Type R Coupe. And when you consider that he’s just 22 years old, you’d be forgiven for thinking he’s had a lot of silver platters on the way. But for Reno Davis, this is far from the truth, and he’s put in a lot of hard work in the past couple of years alone to ensure he can live the lifestyle many only dream of.

Reno Davis on his success

A few years ago, Reno was getting dusty and dirty doing $20 an hour of landscaping work. During this time, he realized there had to be more he could do. More money he could earn. And, taking his interest in property to the next level, he started looking at real estate wholesaling, studying as much as possible to understand how to do it and succeed at it.

Real estate wholesaling is where a wholesaler goes into a contract with a property seller with an agreed sales price. The wholesaler then adds his commission on top of that price. So, say you’re selling a property for $150,000, and your contract with a wholesaler to sell for that price. The wholesaler then sells it for $180,000 and keeps the $30,000 profit. There’s also an agreed sales date in the contract, but if that isn’t met, the contract is simply void.

This piqued Reno’s interest, mainly as it required little capital, so he started researching.

“I was watching YouTube videos all day, every day, trying to figure out how to get my first deal,” he says. “I was booking one-on-one calls with people who have been doing it for a long time to understand the game better.”

And it wasn’t long before he was in the game himself,

“One thing about me – once I get an idea in my head, I’m going to attack it head on, and I’m going to accomplish it.”

And head on, he went. He worked from dusk to dawn, seven days a week, and closed his first sale within three weeks.

Entrepreneurship and Success

Reno now runs his own business with a partner, with dozens of employees working on his behalf to generate leads and market the properties to the right people so that he can close the deals.

He makes at least $10,000 for every property he wholesales through his business, which has an office in Tampa, Florida. And he averages a minimum of three deals a month, often more, and this is what funds his expensive cars and high-profile brand clothing and accessories.

These clothes and accessories, combined with the great marketing of the Reno Davis brand, help him get clients and close deals. And given he works in such a competitive market, there’s no doubt standing out from the crowd makes a difference.

“Your appearance is everything, and you always want to look your best, especially when it comes to first impressions,” he says.

“I like to stand out from the crowd, and I only wear designer clothes because I’m all about quality — you get what you pay for.”
