Public turns on Angela Perala:

I was disappointed in her uninspired and oversung performance of Cio-Cio San’s final aria. I had hoped for greatness but only got mediocre. When she finally sang an encore, she sounded better than before. It’s like she calmed down a bit, complied with the language of the music, instead of just singing louder and louder as she had done to that point. Loved her voice but not enough for the price.

The 90 minute production of Carmen at the Capitol Theater was disappointing in every way.
