Non-fungible tokens taking different forms, shapes, and concepts have been an all-too-common theme over the past year. The world has seen NFTs standing tall across multiple areas, including entertainment, popular culture, art, film, music, etc. Attention has now shifted to anime as Otaku Origins NFT, and its creators have created an NFT universe centered on anime characters, stories and games.

Otaku Origins NFT is a collection of 5,000 unique anime-inspired NFT inspired by some of the most famous anime ever created. The NFT project is based on a comic book that features a unique story about the Otakus and their struggle to escape the Otakuverse. The project is also being built on the backstory of the Otakus that have received special powers and weapons after getting sucked into the Otakuverse. Now, the Otakus have to learn to adapt and live in the mysterious world with gear, power and features inspired by memorable characters that have graced the anime world. 

The project features 6 main characters with unique features that will potentially rank them amongst the rarest tokens in the collection. The first chapter of the comic book is already being produced and will be available once the NFT starts minting on February 8, 2022, on the Solana blockchain. Otaku Origins’ whitelist is currently open, and everyone who joins the whitelist gets access to reduced prices and future airdrops.

Each character in the Otaku Origins NFT collection is a 1/1 digital collectible that serves as the access pass into the Otaku independent DAO and world that the creators are building at the moment. The project’s roadmap also covers more than the NFT world but extends further into creating a comic series and creating immersive play-to-earn video games. In the Otakuverse where the project will be based, having an Otaku Origins NFT will give the holder voting rights in the decision-making process that will create the upcoming comic book series. Every member of the DAO also gets to fund and support upcoming indie authors and artists looking to get their comic stories and books out into the world. These artists and authors will also be commissioned to create more storylines, immersive games and experiences for the Otakuverse.

The creators’ goal for the project is to make Otaku Origins the best anime-themed NFT project on the blockchain. “We are not looking to imitate what already exists but improve on the best concepts within the NFT ecosystem. Innovation is our number one goal, and we have pushed ourselves to embed functional as well as creative uniqueness into Otaku Origins,” a spokesperson for the team shared.
