Meet Shaniah Ashvini Navaratnam, A Digital Marketer and Creative Entrepreneur Leading the Way for Positive Change in Marketing, Arts and the Creative Space

Shaniah Ashvini Navaratnam is a force to be reckoned with. She is a trailblazing creative entrepreneur, master digital marketer, and a portrait photographer par excellence. Her fiery passion for revolutionizing the marketing industry knows no bounds. With a wealth of experience from working in the trenches of start-ups and reputable corporations across the globe, Shaniah has earned a well-deserved reputation as a visionary and incredibly talented marketing maven.

In just 2018, Shaniah took on the role of Marketing Journalist in the Asia-Pacific sector of Marketing Magazine Group, executing major press releases for notable brands across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore and leading investigations on marketing trends in the area. One of her notable achievements was co-writing an article titled “Challenging the tattoo stigma: Ad land shares.” The piece delved into the corporate stigma of hiring individuals with tattoos and how advertising industries with progressive mindsets are counteracting that.

The article garnered viral attention across Asia-Pacific markets, a feat rarely achieved by most at such an early age. While in Singapore, Shaniah also showed exemplary photography skills in her work with the non-profit Singapore Children’s Society to create a photo book to benefit disadvantaged children in the nation. She also regularly collaborated with the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association to craft original video content targeted toward ending Singapore’s drug epidemic that garnered major popularity across Facebook & Instagram.

Within the United States, Shaniah began her out-of-the-box marketing work at ShoeDazzle, Techstyle Fashion Group, where she managed the company’s primary social media accounts, amounting to over 800K followers on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Shaniah’s most notable achievement was aiding in the production of major commercial product campaigns with brand influencers Aliya Janell and Erika Jayne, which reached women of all ages on a national scale and drove product sales for the company drastically.

Moving forward, Shaniah served as the primary digital marketer for Ritual Común, a wellness organization offering therapeutic services in meditation and spiritual teachings to help people live more intentionally. She re-branded Ritual Común’s image on their social media platforms & company website, which successfully acquired the company recognition in the saturated wellness space and still serves as the company’s aesthetic today. Shaniah directed all the content produced, from the website’s photography to the graphic design branding of the organization and the Youtube videos published online.

In 2022, she engaged in a remarkable role as a Social Media Marketer at brand + marketing agency Farrynheight, where she handled social media accounts for notable clientele, including Academy-Award nominated actress Kate Hudson and international wellness brands under the platform Shop Mayple.

One of Shaniah’s distinguished projects was the “Set the Tone ” coffee-table book in collaboration with non-profit start-up Project Healthy Minds, another feat recognized by Forbes. She was involved in crafting the multi-faceted digital marketing approach which promoted the book across billboards in high-traffic areas internationally, including Time Squares, Downtown Los Angeles, and Ibiza.

The book sparked a much-needed national discussion on mental health as an economic and business imperative, which was also addressed by President Joe Biden in his 2022 Union Address. The book promoted the idea that mental health should be a priority in the workplace and undoubtedly led distinguished clientele to Farrynheight based on the ideologies it promoted. Shaniah’s involvement in crafting the digital marketing approach for the book, including the photo series she curated, showcased her photography skills and helped raise awareness for mental health.

This is a clear example of Shaniah’s digital marketing expertise and artistic abilities intersecting to create societal change & successful business prospects.

Shaniah’s exceptional experience as a digital marketer and photographer overseas has prepared her for her latest endeavor, Santulan Creative.

Santulan Creative is an upcoming creative and talent marketing agency that aims to provide opportunities and resources for underprivileged creatives across the United States who face socioeconomic barriers. The agency will offer jobs with esteemed clientele, connect creatives to produce transformative art, and provide digital marketing training to increase exposure.

Santulan art galleries will showcase artists of varying race, gender, and ethnicity to combat the lack of parity in major US museums. Additionally, the agency will integrate an arts mentorship program to teach art to at-risk students of low-income districts in New York City, Los Angeles, & Chicago. Such a program will foster creativity, positively impact the growth and development of children, and enable them to pursue their talent professionally.

Currently, Shaniah works as the Senior Digital Marketing Manager of luxury production company WiB Agency, as well as its subsidiary, Noted Collective, where she manages the promotion of a breadth of talented creatives (including photographers, stylists, DPs, creative directors, etc.) who work with household brands alike to MAC Cosmetics, Chanel, Shiseido, and Dior to name a few.
