At just eight years old, Monica English stepped onto the dazzling stage of pageantry when she won the title of Little Miss Hughes Elizabeth Lakes, and it was this early success that sparked a lifelong passion for the spotlight. Pageantry offered Monica not only a platform to showcase her talents but also the opportunity to immerse herself in a world that nurtured confidence, honed interview skills, and fostered relationships with a diverse range of women.
As Monica entered high school, she continued to further her passion for pageantry by securing the title of Miss Quartz Hill. It was during these years that Monica found the pageant platform to be an avenue for developing real-life skills that would later influence her career choices and entrepreneurial pursuits.
While studying at UC Irvine, another passion ignited within Monica—one for entrepreneurship. Armed with this newfound drive, she plunged into the world of lucrative real estate investments starting at the age of 18. Starting small and gradually broadening her horizons, she moved her investment properties to Michigan, fueling her venture with a determined spirit. But Monica’s entrepreneurial appetite didn’t stop at real estate—she also started a coaching business, lending her wisdom and experience to aspiring models and pageant participants. She was formerly Miss California Regency International.
As a Realtor and Entrepreneur, Monica went from being temporarily homeless to being a home provider. She has hosted thousands of guests in her short-term rentals in Downtown Long Beach. Her current focus is to help as many first-time homebuyers as possible achieve homeownership; she provides guidance every step of the way for a seamless process. Constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and projects, she remains steadfast in her pursuit of success in the real estate market.
Through it all, Monica had to navigate several challenges. From living in foster care to instances of extreme poverty and homelessness, adversity was no stranger to her. Yet, it’s her undying resilience and unwavering determination that has been the horsepower propelling her onward and upward.
Motivated by her family, her partner, and her ambitions for the future, Monica dreams of giving back to those who have supported her and impacting the lives of others positively. Inspiration seeps into Monica from stories of people who have surmounted similar challenges. She believes that these experiences have chiseled her into the resilient and compassionate woman she is today.
When reflecting on the fire that fuels her drive, Monica credits her mother. A tribute to tenacity, her mother’s journey of emigration, enduring numerous obstacles, and successfully establishing a medical career, all while nurturing a passion for entrepreneurship, is what Monica finds most inspiring.
“My mom has inspired me most in my life because she’s probably the strongest person that I know. She’s encountered so many different obstacles throughout her life and is a true representative of a fighter. She started over in a new country, not having any of her family, as well as not having any support system, and still came out on top. She continues to work towards her goals in entrepreneurship while juggling a full-time career. She’s been a medical doctor since age 24 and loves doing it. And still like working on getting that here. It’s crazy to think of what different generations have had to go through before us, you know?”
