Keith Ross Nelson Setting a New Stage for Comedy and Entertainment

After thirty long years in the comedy industry, you’d think that someone like Keith Ross Nelson is preparing for his way out. But it seems that he’s just getting started as he continues to level up his entertainment game and bring a new brand of comedy that’s taking stages and bars all over the nation by storm.

Keith is bringing a new mantra to his material—getting mature with style. Much of his acts now revolve around the everyday realities of reaching your golden years, both poking fun at it but highlighting the goodness behind it in the process too. “My act is unique in that it talks about being middle aged and dealing with it.. “Still, I’ve been told that my material and act feel young, smart, cool, and hip. So that got me thinking!”

What’s so uncanny about Keith’s comedy is that it’s attracting an unexpected crowd. Many of his followers, the comedian has come to notice, are relatively young people, usually around twenty-five to thirty years old. “[They] respond to my material best, saying it’s like watching a cool Dad do stand-up,” Keith explains.

Keith Ross Nelson is no stranger to the world of entertainment. He’s appeared in two independent films, namely Mobsters and Mormons and The R.M. He’s also done work on the back end of movies, writing and co-creating the TV series Not for Nothin’ with Jimmy Dellavalle and Tim Homayoon. The show centers around the story of three best friends who work regular jobs while pursuing comedy and acting on the side in Los Angeles. The TV show became a hit as it connected with a broad audience that could relate with those who have aspirations that stem from the typical professional path. Keith Ross Nelson also stars on the show, which people can watch on the giant streaming platform Amazon Prime.

Apart from comedy, Keith also had a season where he worked in professional sports. For seven years, between 2000 and 2007, he held the Masters High Jump record. Back in 1998, he also finished second overall in the World Masters Nike Championships and won three national chips as an athlete. Keith also loves martial arts and holds a third-degree black belt in Kung Fu.

For the last three decades, Keith has traveled all across America, performing before mixed crowds of different sizes. He’s had at least one show in all fifty states in the country and has performed for uniformed men and women to lift their spirits amid the hardships of serving their country, even for long periods away from family. Most people will also know Keith Ross Nelson for his performance on the Hulu show Comedy Time. The entertainer has also recently appeared on Entertainment Tonight and various publications, including New York Weekly, LA Wire, US News, LA Times, US Reporter, Entertainment Monthly News, Miami Wire and many others.

Despite seeing so much success, Keith remains hungry. But what drives him isn’t the fame or glamour but the thrill he gets by bringing people joy. Follow Keith Ross Nelson on Instagram and his website.
