Kathy Ireland: Celebrating Hope This Holiday Season

The last few weeks of the year are filled with holidays. And as the year comes to a close, families gather to celebrate and welcome the new year with hope. Kathy Ireland celebrates the success of her company, kathy ireland Worldwide, by giving Americans a gift for the holidays. Working with award-winning producer Sam Haskell, Ireland and her company is the sole presenting sponsor of the holiday film The Waltons’ Homecoming.

Kathy Ireland has had a good year with her company kathy ireland Worldwide. She received a few awards and accolades, including an Icon Award from International Home Furnishings Association and the Business International Religious Freedom Champion Award from the IRF. Ireland has also become the youngest woman inducted by Licensing International in their Hall of Fame for being the CEO of the highest-ranked woman-owned licensing company in the United States.

As Kathy Ireland has a lot to celebrate this year, she wanted to give back and be part of other families’ celebrations as well. So she worked with Sam Haskell, Emmy Award-winning producer and CEO of Magnolia Hill Productions at Warner Brothers. With kathy ireland Worldwide as presenting sponsor, together they made the film The Waltons’ Homecoming. A heartwarming story of family, faith, love, and inclusivity, this film airs on The CW on November 28 and December 11. Ireland talked about this collaboration and said, “We wanted to give families a show that can help them feel more hopeful. We all need that little encouragement after the challenging year we all went through. Sam Haskell was the best person for the job. His accomplishments in television are legendary and iconic, and I knew that having him on this project would result in something special.”

Music for the film was provided by seven-time Grammy Award-winning artists Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo. Their version of “Silent Night” will be released by Watertower Music on Monday, November 29. TV Guide describes their rendition of this holiday classic song as soulful and beautiful. But this is not the only time that Davis and McCoo have worked with Kathy Ireland. Their previous album, Blackbird: Lennon-McCartney Icons, was made in partnership with Ireland and produced by Nic Mendoza.

Kathy Ireland also serves as the International Chair for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. In a statement, McCoo and Davis said, “Kathy has an incredibly wonderful heart. However, not many know that she advocates for support for children battling cancer. So when she and NPCF CEO David Frazer came to us for a commercial campaign, we were happy to do it.” This commercial campaign features the artists’ vocal performance of the song “Do It.” The song is a call to action for holiday donations to the foundation. Ireland and her company will also contribute to the foundation for every holiday purchase.

Kathy Ireland is an accomplished entrepreneur with a generous heart. This year has given her a lot to celebrate, and she aims to share positivity and hope with all families this holiday season. The Waltons’ Homecoming stars Bellamy Young, Ben Lawson, and Logan Shroyer. The original John Boy, Richard Thomas, also returns as a narrator for this film.
