Working with the mindset that hard work is a core ingredient for success regardless of how much talent one has, J.Addo has built a thriving music career on consistency and a never-give-up attitude. 

With him making waves on numerous national platforms, J.Addo’s ultimate goal is to become a well-known and respected superstar. His goal as an artist is to inspire people across ages, races, tribes and nationalities to pursue whatever they desire relentlessly. He hopes to be a focal point for people who have dreams and desire to bring those dreams to fruition by all means possible. The Silver Spring, the Maryland-born artist, has weathered storms and overcome numerous challenges all his life but at no point has giving up been part of the plan.

J.Addo draws inspiration from the things and people that matter to him. He credits his primary motivation to his family, especially his mother, who used to be a musician in Ghana, West Africa. His elder brother also produces music, which gave him his earliest background in music sounds and different genres. Having a singer mother and producer as a brother inspired him to go into music and the high level of support he gets from his father keeps him going. “I’m genuinely thankful for the supportive family I’m blessed with,” he said.

J.Addo’s music reflects a deep sense of compassion and lyrics that send messages of hope. He’s a firm advocate for mental health, and his music refers to that quite often. “I always talk about mental health because that is a key topic that I feel like isn’t talked about in the world enough. Your mental health is everything, and I too sometimes struggle with it but through prayer and keeping my head level, I can deal with my anxiety on a daily,” he revealed.

J.Addo makes music for all ages, and he operates on mantras bordering around hard work, forging independent paths and believing in God as the supreme being. He has been making major moves over the past year despite the pandemic. He has been published in multiple publications and platforms like MTV, BET, Music Choice, and others. He also recently announced his upcoming album in 2022 as a follow up to his 7-track EP Chosen, which he released this year and made it to number #42 on the worldwide Apple Music charts.

Making music is one of the things that bring him the most happiness, and he’s willing to keep at it until he gets to the top of his career. “Everyone has a passion, but it takes true deep character development to know what your passion is but also chase that passion for turning the dream into reality. Mine is music, and I never stop putting in work,” he said.

I’m a few years, J.Addo sees himself topping charts and smashing music records.
