From her Seattle-based office, Dr. Michelle Majors, founder of the Majors Leadership Group, leads an effort to redefine workplace culture with her unique approach, Grace Equity™. As a leadership coach and “Difficult Conversation Strategist,” Michelle combines her journey with over a decade of consulting expertise to empower organizations to build environments where grace is not just a sentiment but a practical approach.
A Journey from Invisible to Empowered
Michelle’s story begins with conquering her own hardships. Growing up in conditions of chronic homelessness and instability, she faced profound challenges that left her feeling invisible and powerless. But in her moments of struggle, she never forgot the strangers who helped her find her voice and place in the world despite her circumstances. “So many people both known and unknown helped me in my journey. Recognizing my hardship, they gave me grace when I needed it most,” she recalls. “This taught me the importance of not only being seen, heard, and valued, but seeing, hearing and valuing others.”
Being without a home shaped her ability to observe others with sensitivity and recognize the hidden traumas and motivations of others. It also gave her the unique insight to create safe, inclusive spaces where people can express their fears, ideas, and feelings without judgment. This empathetic approach became the foundation of her professional philosophy and her business success.
Building Grace into Business
Majors Leadership Group emerged from Michelle’s desire to use her life lessons to help organizations thrive. Her mission is to guide workplace cultures toward greater empathy, understanding, and collaboration. Central to her work is Grace Equity™, a research-backed framework for fostering restorative conversations that prioritize humanity and grace over fear, defensiveness, or blame.
Michelle describes grace as an opening for connection and understanding where people feel safe, supported, and empowered. “When people know they’re valued and heard, they become courageous in their ideas, feedback, and actions,” she says. This philosophy drives the workshops, keynote speeches, and online courses offered through the Majors Leadership Group.
