With the story first introduced by Johnston McCulley’s literary genius, the masked hero is receiving a fresh take in a new series to be aired through Prime Video in the United States, Latin America, and Spain.
It is produced by the C&T Mobs with Sergio Pizzolante as the executive producer, Secuoya Studios with John Gertz, Andy Kaplan from KC Global Media, and Jesus Torres Viera and Glenda Pacanins from NoStatusQuo Studios, as executive producers. The principal photography for the new series began on the Island of Gran Canaria last July 25, marking a success in the kickoff of the project.
With a crew of over 200 seasoned professionals, from the cast to the amazing crew, the filming of the new adventures of Zorro will take place in various scenic locations, including Las Palmas, Arucas, Gåldar, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Telde, the protected natural area of El Nublo, the Caldera de Tejera, and the Sioux City Theme Park.
Originally set in the mid-19th century California in the famous literary classic by the original author, Zorro will receive a fresh and modern treatment according to the vision of executive producers David Martinez, David Cotarelo, and Angela Agudo. Under the direction of Javier Quintas, Miguel Angel Vivas, and José Luis Alegria, the 10-episode series will surely bring audiences a new perspective on the masked hero and bring Zorro into the context of the modern world.
