A registered nurse for over half a decade, Anthony Finochio has witnessed first-hand the ruthless onslaught of a global pandemic and the heart-wrenching examples of a failing medical system. Yet, amid the chaos and challenges, he found his calling. The Pennsylvania native did not only serve across multiple hospital systems but bravely battled his way through the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Anthony’s journey has not been one merely of survival but of resilience, adaptation, and evolution that led him from the confines of treatment rooms to the expansive possibilities of preventive healthcare and fitness.

Life in a white coat can be frustrating when one sees the devastating toll chronic illness takes – especially when preventable – and the failure of the medical system that struggles to cope. For Anthony, every challenge thrown his way was a knock on the door to self-discovery and a tap on the shoulder to find an alternate path. He stopped being a registered nurse but continued onward, building his own fitness brand, FinochioFitness, after gaining experience from working with LA Fitness, a popular health club.

As an adept personal trainer, Anthony develops meal plans workout regimes, and provides life coaching. His one-on-one work has gained praise for its effectiveness in aligning the trajectories of his clients’ lives toward health and fitness. He combines his formal knowledge with the latest research to innovate physical training and mental fitness regimes. His approach towards coaching is found in his trial-and-error methodology, reflecting his commitment to learning and adapting.

While most of the world was fixated on tertiary prevention – controlling the disease once it has occurred– Anthony turned his attention to what he believed could be the key to a healthier world: primary prevention. His focus shifted from ‘curing’ to ‘preventing’ diseases, from treating the ‘ill’ to maintaining the ‘healthy,’ fueling his passion for fitness and personal wellbeing. Hence, his journey started veering towards the path not often taken by those in the medical field – personal fitness and holistic wellness.

Anthony co-founded the Asclepius Movement, LLC, named after the Greek god of medicine. His social enterprise hosts fitness challenges, provides nutrition advice wellness guidance, and aims to build a community that values a lifestyle centered around health and fitness.

Now, instead of being confounded by the limitations and drawbacks of the medical system, Anthony uses the tools in his arsenal: knowledge of biology, understanding of the human body, personal experience, and hands-on expertise in fitness training. In trying to build a healthier world, he is not merely mending what is broken but shielding the unbroken from breaking.

A glance at his Instagram page @anthonyfinochio provides a glimpse of his dedication and passion. His thousands of followers are privy to glimpses of his fitness journey, words of inspiration, workout routines, and healthful meal plans. Furthermore, the Asclepius Movement’s website, asclepiusmovement.com, provides services tailored to specific needs– be it weight management, diet planning, or building muscle mass.

Anthony Finochio’s journey is a testament to the power of adaptation and the spirit of enterprise. His legacy goes beyond the nurse’s uniform he wore and into a holistic fitness lifestyle that he propagates. However, one cannot help but remember a journey that began battling a pandemic in hospital wards and transitioned into battling lifestyle diseases in training rooms. Anthony has seamlessly transitioned from the role of a healer to a preventive caregiver, a transformation that is not only inspiring but humbling. Anthony is no longer just a registered nurse – he is a beacon of health and fitness, guiding those seeking to be the best versions of themselves.
