During the two-day event held by the Better World Fund at the Sweden Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Better World Fund announced its partnership with SHIBU token. The Better World Fund proudly amplifies that SHIBU will be their official sponsor and partner over the next decade.
The Better World Fund is a Paris-based philanthropic foundation that uses art, mainly cinema, to raise awareness about pressing global issues, such as women’s rights, education, climate, and biodiversity. The foundation has been committed to gaining support from the entertainment industry to fuel humanitarian missions across the globe. Upon announcing its partnership with SHIBU, the Better World Fund also hosted a star-studded gala dinner and award ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.
On its private sale, SHIBU raised $500,000, and through this, SHIBU raised $30,000 for charity through the Better World Fund. Manuel Collas de la Roche, president of the Better World Fund, who is also one of the co-founders of SHIBU, shared that he is beyond thrilled to merge the world of NFTs and film.
The other co-founders are Geraldine Dunayer, Director of the Better World Fund – UAE; Gustavo Antonio Montero, a banker and crypto enthusiast who previously opened Standard Chartered Bank in Switzerland; and Shibu Thomas, who is renowned in pharmaceutics, a major success story in real estate, and the face of Shibu.
To celebrate the deal further, SHIBU received an invitation to attend the highly-anticipated Cannes Film Festival, which the Better World Fund will be organizing in Cannes in May 2022.
“We are delighted to be joining forces with SHIBU token, along with celebrities and influencers to raise funding for the Better World Fund and the humanitarian projects we are financing,” said Manuel Collas de la Rocha.
SHIBU does not operate like the rest of the cryptocurrencies available in the market as it is the only payment method on the celebrity and influencer NFT marketplace already in development today because of a successful private sale. It is also a deflationary Binance Smart Chain token that addresses various humanitarian needs and is endorsed by some of the biggest names in Hollywood and the European film industry. Furthermore, through its smart contract audited by Hacken, SHIBU ensures to consistently uphold its mission to provide the much-needed assistance humanitarian projects deserve.
In addition, at the Cannes Film Festival 2022, SHIBU will be setting up a next-generation metaverse scanner where celebrities and attendees will get the opportunity to get scanned assisted by three token professionals. The scans will be used to create NFTs, which will then be sold off in an auction.
SHIBU has always been vocal about leading a holistic change in the cryptocurrency industry, and with its partnership with the Better World Fund, it is a step closer to their goal of leaving a lasting impact on people from all walks of life.
SHIBU will have its presale on January 13, 2022 at 1 PM UTC through their website; it will end on January 17, 2022 at 1 PM UTC. Its first DEX listing will be on January 20, 2022 at 1 PM UTC.
