Khalid Ahmed might only be twenty-four years old, but he’s on his way up to the top in success and influence. Going by the name ISELLCOIN online, he’s unlike most people in that he was forced to achieve financial success at a young age. If not, he would not have been pursuing a successful career in the digital space, proving that circumstance can make or break an individual.
Khalid’s early success was dictated by the need to pay his medical bills early. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at the age of nine and went into septic shock shortly after. He sees this experience as more of a blessing than a curse now. Due to spending most of his pre-teen years admitted in the hospital room, the medical bills were quickly stacking. His parents were barely able to pay their mortgage while trying to balance his bills. That eventually caused them to lose their home in Victorville, CA. After hearing this news, he made it his mission to ensure his family would never be in this position again. He seared this into his brain and stepped up.
During his sophomore year in high school, he was in complete remission from his chronic illness. However, due to the lack of interaction from kids his age, he was a big introvert and a recluse. As a result, he naturally fell into the like-minded nerd crowd in high school.
“All we talked about was computer parts, graphics cards, and video games. So every day when school ended, I flipped over older computer parts that I had around from constantly trying to get smoother frame rates in the video games I was playing,” says Khalid.
One day, he met a client slightly older than him and offered him an insane price for their AMD Radeon Graphics cards he had around. He asked him why he needed 4 of the same cards and what game he was running to need that much power possibly. He told Khalid that it was to mine Bitcoin, and that day in 2015, his life changed forever. He went home and researched it extensively.
He put a bit of money into Bitcoin, and after its meteoric rise, the thousands he invested amounted to six figures. He sold some of the Bitcoin and gave all the money to his parents. They bought a house in West Covina, but he wasn’t done yet. He expanded into selling fully-ready video game rigs with graphics cards included. His business did well, and he began making contacts with suppliers in China. This opened the doors to new ecommerce-based businesses such as Marvel and DC-inspired pocket knife online stores, Hiking and Outdoor niche-based online stores, and Weighted Blanket stores.
All three of his online stores did well, to the point where he began to lease multiple warehouses in the United States to keep up with demand. He ended his relationship with China for these businesses and began manufacturing and selling solely in the United States.
He still runs his weighted blanket company and is an angel investor. He continues to invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum solely and has gotten into NFTs. His most recent angel investment has been to fund a series of A rounds for DOGPOUND. DOGPOUND is the United States’ most exclusive gym, and his fellow investors include Tom Holland and Adriana Lima. In addition, he is a pilot who loves flying his Piper Warrior or Cessna.
