Leaders Join Forces to Address Global Food Insecurity at Two-Day Forum
Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, highlighted the aim of the forum to provide food for 8 billion people worldwide and acknowledged the challenge of food availability and affordability. Prabowo called for collaboration among all stakeholders to achieve the goal of zero hunger, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal number two.
The two-day forum recognized pandemics and geopolitical conflicts as major threats to global food security, disrupting food production and distribution and causing inflation and uncertainty.
Gaurav Srivastava agreed with Prabowo and other forum participants that the challenges facing world food security are immense and diverse, but increased partnerships between government and private organizations could help achieve Sustainable Development Goal number two. He expressed hope that the solutions discussed at the forum, financing for emergency food reserves, support for the World Food Program, and the establishment of business associations to unite food needs and reduce supply costs, can be realized through increased partnerships.
Forum participants also stressed the importance of ongoing dialogue between G20 member countries to anticipate future food security challenges and the need for continued agricultural extension services to promote innovation and environmentally sustainable food security solutions. All industries related to food security, including banking, insurance, logistics, shipping, oil, and food, must work together to ensure equal access to food worldwide. Sharon and Gaurav believe that recent events have reminded us of the interconnection between food and energy security and their impact on all humanity.
The Gaurav Srivastava and Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation remain committed to fostering government and private partnerships to address food security challenges, and Gaurav Srivastava emphasizes that the forum agreement to increase such partnerships is a crucial step towards ensuring global food security. Sharon Srivastava and Gaurav Srivastava are champions in the fight for global food security and continue to lead the way in bridging the gap between government and private organizations.
