Fayzullo Rakhmatullaev has built a remarkable career in martial arts, characterized by dedication, versatility, and a commitment to both personal growth and community impact. Born on February 4, 2001, in Namangan, Uzbekistan, Fayzullo discovered his passion for martial arts early in life, starting his journey at the age of eight. Over the years, his efforts have culminated in an inspiring story that highlights the transformative power of sports in individual lives and society.

Foundations of a Martial Arts Career

Fayzullo’s introduction to martial arts began with kickboxing, where his natural talent and disciplined approach quickly became evident. His early success in Penchak Silat, Indonesia’s national sport, broadened his expertise and provided a strong foundation for his career. Throughout his adolescence, he achieved significant milestones, including numerous regional, national, and international championship wins in kickboxing and Penchak Silat. These achievements reflect a blend of innate skill and relentless effort.

While developing his own skills, Fayzullo also contributed to his local sports community by assisting his coach in training younger athletes. This early exposure to mentorship ignited his passion for teaching, eventually leading him to earn the Sports Referee of Second Category certification in kickboxing. This dual focus on personal development and community engagement has remained a constant throughout his career.

Rising Through the Ranks

As Fayzullo’s career progressed, he sought to broaden his horizons by mastering additional martial arts disciplines. His transition to Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu demonstrates his adaptability and commitment to evolving as a martial artist. These disciplines require not only physical strength but also mental agility, a balance Fayzullo has consistently demonstrated.

Competing as a white belt under the Avaz Achilov Mixed Martial Arts Academy, Rakhmatullaev showcased his skills at the NAGA North American Grappling Championship on November 23, 2024. In the Men’s No-Gi Novice Light Heavyweight division (180–189.9 lbs), he secured victories against Khawaja Shahzaib Ahmad (7–1 on points) and Youssef Saied (via submission) before facing a submission loss to Damian Suarez in the final, earning him a commendable second place. 

His dedication bore fruit in numerous international achievements. Notably, he won the International Kickboxing Championship as an adult and earned second place in the WKA U.S. Nationals in the 189.3 lb to 198 lb weight category. Competing in the United States presented new challenges, but Fayzullo’s ability to adapt to different competitive environments has solidified his reputation as a versatile and determined athlete. Training at Avaz Achilov’s MMA gym in New York has further refined his skills, preparing him for the unique demands of the American martial arts scene.

Balancing Education and Training

In addition to his rigorous training schedule, Fayzullo is pursuing studies at the New York Institute of English and Business, focusing on improving his English language skills. This academic endeavor aligns with his broader goal of becoming an effective communicator, both within and beyond the martial arts community. By enhancing his language proficiency, Fayzullo is equipping himself with tools to better connect with diverse audiences and share the values of discipline, resilience, and respect that martial arts embody.
