Marie-Louise Boisnier, a New York-based actress and singer, has been captivating audiences with her portrayal of Lyla Cummings in the off-Broadway musical “Dream On, Baransky.” The original production, written by Richard Baron and Dale Baron, is directed by Jake Minter and co-produced by James Jennings, President of the American Theatre of Actors. Premiering at the landmark American Theatre of Actors, the show has been delighting audiences from March 22 through April 8.
Boisnier’s performance in the lead role has been nothing short of phenomenal. Described as “hilarious,” “picture-perfect,” and a “natural born talent,” she effortlessly holds the audience’s attention throughout the show. Her triple-threat capabilities as a dancer, singer, and actress make her a standout performer on stage. With a vocal range that is incredibly impressive, she is able to perform strenuous dance numbers while captivating the audience with her powerful presence.
In addition to her acting and singing prowess, Boisnier is also a talented songwriter, with her original songs available on Spotify. Born to a Slovakian mother and French father, and raised in England, she is fluent in both Slovakian and French. Boisnier’s passion for the performing arts began early in her life with dance classes in various styles such as ballet, tap, belly dancing, and Bollywood dancing.

Inspired by renowned singers like Adele, Celine Dion, and Sam Smith, Boisnier pursued singing and acting throughout high school, participating in musicals and plays. Her early success in the role of The Narrator in “The Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat” laid the foundation for her flourishing career.
“Dream On, Baransky” is a 21st-century take on “Love American Style” and follows the story of Jonathan Baransky, a man simultaneously involved with two women: single and sassy Lyla, and strong-willed (but married) Suzie. The plot takes a turn when an old flame, Jennifer, returns to rekindle their relationship, causing Jonathan’s anxiety attacks to increase in frequency. Under the guidance of his eccentric therapist, Dr. Smithson, Jonathan undergoes experimental anti-anxiety treatments that lead him into a surreal dream state, where the real fun begins.
The musical features a talented cast, including Joseph Monseur, Anita Moreno, Alisa Mironova, Sky Spallone, Jeffrey Jaafar Laraichi, Amber Brookes, Dustin Pazar, Elizah Hill, Quinn Nguyen, Karolina Larion, Isaias Badilla, David Allard, and Billy Gillen. With choreography by Karolina Larion and production management by Amber Brookes, “Dream On, Baransky” offers an unforgettable experience.
