Coming out of a small town like Mount Dora, Florida, can often be a challenge. For Herbert Welch, the quiet and humble sounds of the lakeside was a comfort zone. While he pays excellent homage to his roots, it’s time he spread his wings and took flight. Today, the musician and artist is out to conquer the world with his craft.
For Herbert, music became a part of life very early on. He started singing in church at a young age and performed at local restaurants, theaters, and larger venues in time. It was apparent then that he had an undying passion for music. He dreamed of becoming a professional performer who would win over people worldwide. By the time he hit his teens, that dream would become a reality as he started to sing professionally, traveling the world to do background vocal work for various companies and studios.
Artists like John Legend, Future TI, Rod Wave, and many others would serve as role models for the young artist as he polished his craft. They would give Herbert the strength to also move into the songwriting space. After years of remaining in the background, the rising vocalist and writer believes that now is his time to step into the center stage to show the world what he can do.
“One of the main reasons I began making music is because I kept a lot of what happened in my life inside of me,” remembers Herbert Welch. “Just as others do, music was a coping mechanism for me. I would listen to the beats and lose all control for a momentary lapse. Listening to the lyrics I would use those words and phrases as a way to express how I was feeling.” Today, Herbert has channeled those emotions and expressions into his love for music. He has worked hard all his life to be where he is today. For most of his life, Herbert has been on his own, learning how to fend for himself.
But the artist always had a vision that would take him farther in life. He would imagine leaving his small town growing up and moving to bigger cities and even going overseas to do what he loves most. Herbert Welch has always been a believer in the power of confidence to turn dreams into reality. At the age of sixteen, he started a modeling program called Welch Modeling to help young adults build the confidence to walk on a runway and take on life’s challenges. The experience not only helped dozens of kids build their self-esteem. It helped form Herbert’s as well.
Today, Herbert is putting all of his energy into building up his music career. He hopes to one day perform with some of the biggest names in music and continue using his talents to uplift and motivate others. The artist has also moved into the e-commerce space and will be launching Welch Merch very soon.
