The son of immigrants who escaped Bosnia during the Yugoslav wars and moved to the United States armed with the hopes of securing a better life for their children, Adnan is intimately privy to the struggles that come hand in hand with trying to survive in a foreign land. Growing up, he watched his parents bend backward to support and provide for their family.Â
“I remember my parents only getting three hours of sleep a night because of how many different jobs they were working just to keep our family afloat,” Adnan shared. “Their struggles showed me the difference between living and surviving, and I promised myself that I would create a future that would be better for all of us one day.”
This vision fueled Adnan’s efforts and helped him barrel through the barriers – from physical injuries and rejections to financial hardships and naysayers – that stood in his way. Years down the road, he would find himself on the receiving end of an opportunity to pitch a business idea for a social media and fitness application. His presentation, which won him the title of “Young Entrepreneur of the Year, heralded the beginning of a career leading him toward the entrepreneurial and real estate realms.
Currently, Adnan works for the global real estate powerhouse Compass, where he’s demonstrated a knack for delivering results. In 2021 alone, he made over $50 million in sales, an accomplishment that not every agent can bag. Among the top one percent of the 1.7 million licensed real estate agents in America, the purpose-driven personality has earned a “5-Star Best” agent in the well-renowned marketplace Zillow.
On top of his in-depth understanding of the industry, it is Adnan’s work ethic, resourcefulness, grit, and determination that sets him apart. “I think that growing up with a chip on my shoulder and experiencing what it was like to live through oppression and poverty primed me in a way that others who were more privileged couldn’t have been,” he added.
